Embarking on a new chapter, full of aspirations and promises to ourselves, only to be swept away by the currents of life—does that sound all too familiar? It’s a tale many of us know too well, one that often lacks the fairy-tale ending.

Far too often, I find people speaking harshly about their appearance, downplaying their strengths, and shying away from celebrating their triumphs.

But this year, babe, let’s stray from the path of fleeting resolutions. Instead, let’s embark on a journey that breaks free from the cycle of broken promises and unlocks the missing link – self-love.

No, not the clichéd self-love rituals involving bubble baths and scented candles. Together, we need to discover rituals that lead us on a path of self-discovery and empowerment, reshaping not only how we see the world but, most importantly, how we see ourselves.

As your trusted boudoir photographer here in the enchanting Hudson Valley, take my hand as we embark on a journey unraveling the profound connection between self-love and the captivating art of boudoir photography.

Let’s immerse ourselves in the transformative experience and arm ourselves with the tools to ignite or enhance our own unique self-love journey.

We’ll craft a heartfelt love letter to our soul, unfolding the intimate corners of our hearts untouched by external pressures. This self-love journey means weaving small, intentional acts of self-love into our daily routine. 

The acts we uncover will be simple enough, regardless of our lifestyles, careers, and responsibilities to be practiced daily. They will become the bond that blooms a positive and compassionate self-connection.

So let’s start this journey off by trying out one or a few of the following:

  • Start a gratitude journal to reflect on and appreciate personal qualities, experiences, and achievements.
  • Write a letter to yourself expressing love, acceptance, and encouragement. Highlight specific qualities that you appreciate about yourself, both strengths and areas for growth
  • Stand in front of a mirror to acknowledge and appreciate your physical and inner qualities, even the ones you may have considered as weaknesses.
  • Reflect on your strengths and talents and consider how these strengths have positively impacted your life and the lives of others.
  • Focus on accepting and appreciating yourself in the present moment, without judgment.

Remember to speak kindly to yourself. Even if it’s just in your head, if you wouldn’t say it to your best friend, then you shouldn’t say it to yourself. Give yourself grace. This is more about the journey than reaching some destination. 

We can do this babe. We are worthy of this love, light, and kindness. We deserve to be happy and comfortable from the inside out.
