Babes, can you feel the Hudson Valley start to finally wake up? Spring is almost here!
As we head into March and continue on our journey of self love, I think this is the perfect opportunity to incorporate movement into our lives. No, I’m not talking about going to the gym or excessive exercise.
In this month’s blog post we are going to explore simple yet effective activities that can help you keep self-care a priority and start tapping into the empowering energy of spring.
An abbreviation you’ll want to know & remember
EMA = EMPOWERMENT MOVEMENT ACTIVITY
EMA #1
Regardless of the time of day, your lifestyle, or jean size; do some basic stretches like toe touches and side bends! Not only are these two simple stretches perfect at increasing flexibility, improving circulation, and giving you a little mood booster these are great activities to get you on the path to feeling more empowered as spring awakens the Hudson Valley.
Plus if you incorporate a couple other stretches like the ‘Cobra Stretch’ and the ‘Calf Stretch’ where you place both hands on the wall for support and then step back on one leg gently pushing towards the ground can get your body ready for a few other activities. *Wink* *Wink*
EMA #2
We are all babes, not robots. So don’t put pressure on yourself to feel the need to practice self-care activities daily. Putting your phone on DND and getting some real fresh air is a fantastic way to help you start feeling more confident and empowered in yourself.
The Hudson Valley is filled with so many gems for you to not only get outside to get some fresh air, but you get your body moving by going for a walk! All of us babes are different, and that is okay! Do what you can, when you can. But give it your all to try – without the excuses!
Try to make it a weekly goal to go for a walk at least once a week! Depending on our schedules, if you are local to the boudoir studio in Wappingers Falls, we can go for a walk together!
Some of my favorite places to take a nice even stroll (perfect for all babes) that is close to the boudoir studio are:
- Long Dock Park, Beacon NY
- The Rail Trail – So many entry spots, I use the one in Wappingers Falls, NY off 376
- The Walkway Over The Hudson – Poughkeepsie NY
If you aren’t local or just want to continue our self love journey together virtually, that’s cool too babe. I am just happy you are here, making your self a priority and incorporating more self care into your life!
Taking a walk around your neighborhood, your town or even the mall count too! Just try your best to move your body at least once a week by going for a walk!
Let me know some of your favorite places to walk around! Sharing is caring – don’t be a gate keeper.
EMA #3
I may or may not have gotten this idea from rewatching Grey’s Anatomy lately, but after a little research with Professor Google, another way empowering movement that boosts our mood is dancing it out. Shonda Rhimes didn’t make it up!
You do not have to be good at dancing, and if you’re like me you’ll try this when no one is watching – literally! But babe, we gotta dance it out!
Create a playlist of some of your favorite songs, the ones that you can’t help but wiggle too. Leave ‘All Too Well’ 10 Minute Version off of this playlist. Make it a goal to have 10 or more!
Just let loose for a bit. Like a song or two. If you’re home alone, I dare you to get lost in the entire playlist!
My go-to empowerment song is ‘Fly Away’ By Tones And I. What is your favorite?!
I started this blog because we all can use more self-love and care in our lives. But to be honest babe, sitting here writing this, as a boudoir photographer here in the Hudson Valley, these 3 EMAs would be FANTASTIC activities to help you prepare for your own session!
So when you’re ready babe, you know where to find me and you’ll already be a few steps ahead of the game! And here is a little motivation for you babes…
If you’re really committed to this self-love journey with me then for this month only if you book a session with me and mention the March Blog Post – I will save you $100 on your next boudoir session!
Tag a friend below who would absolutely love all of this and comment which of these 3 EMA’s are your favorite!
EMA #2 is my favorite. As soon as it starts warming up I am all about getting out.
AHH YAAASSS BABE!!!! Where are you thinking of going first?!
